On April 17, 2019, cupcakKe released the audio version of her remixed version, which gained popularity within days. She then created a music video to go along with her remix, which currently has surpassed two million views. Later on, Lil Nas X showed support to cupcakKe, stating to MTV "CupcakKe is amazing, I love her," when asked about the remix.
